the newest and largest building of the National Gallery, was opened on May 25, 2015. In 28 rooms on four levels, about 1,700 works from the gallery's rich fund of over 42,000 museum exhibits of Bulgarian and foreign artists are exhibited . The Bulgarian collection dates back to the 1990s, while the majority of the foreign collection was formed in the 1980s.
The exhibition includes works tracing the path of Bulgarian art from the middle of the 19th century and from the 20th century, European art from the 15th-19th centuries, as well as art exhibits from Asia, Africa and America. -
