Itinerary

Step 1

We will start our tour at 09:00am from your respective hotel with our first stop to an archaelogical site: some of the most mystical locales in Tahiti are on land: the stone marae (temples) that the ancient Polynesians held sacred. The best way to understand the ancient Polynesian culture is to visit a marae, Today, most marae are just piles of stones, but before the arrival of Europeans in the 18th century, they were the center for social, political and religious activity-including human sacrifice. Our tour guide will take you around this sacred place

Step 2

After the Arahurahu marae around 10:10am we will visit the Maraa Grotto: we will walk through a rainforest with impossibly lush freshwater pools, small caves and the dripping grotto itself, ringed by ferns, which Paul Gauguin mentioned in his letters. (easy terrain)

Step 3

driving along the west coast we will stop around 11:00am at Taharuu surf beach, a black sand beach on the west coast of Tahiti island. The place is beautiful - with many palms and trees. Most of the time, there are strong waves suitable for beginning surfers.

Step 4

around 11:45 we will stop to Vapahi garden, situated along Tahiti's southern coast in Mataiea, the Vaipahi Gardens are a verdant paradise. we will see more than 75 plant species from all over the world (marked with signs and information in English and French), exotic flowers, a lily pond and streams that wind through the area. Travelers said they were impressed with how well-maintained this natural attraction is. Many said that they loved its tranquility, the easy-to-traverse trails, the small waterfalls and the vibrant flora throughout.

Step 5

After the botanical garden Vaipahi we will head to the small island Tahiti iti for lunch (estimated arrival: 12:45pm). Enjoy a 270° view of the Big island of Tahiti from the belvedere of Taravao which is located on the little island Tahiti iti. We will have lunch at the plateau. the lunch can be taken in a different restaurant of your choice. (lunch will be paid by each participant)

Through the village of Tiarei where the road swoops around a black-sand beach,It’s a couple of hundred metres through a forest of chestnut trees to Vaimahutu waterfalls. (need sneakers and bugs spray)

Step 8

At 03:55pm we will stop to the blowhole where we will see some locals surfing on their body board. The right swell conditions produce a geyser-like fountain of water that looks very impressive coming up from what is known as the trou du souffleur (blowhole). Just past the blowhole there's a beautiful black-sand beach sliver that makes a great place for a picnic

Step 9

at 04:10pm we will end our tour to the most popular black sand beach on east coast of Tahiti.
