Itinerary
Petra - Wadi Musa, Petra - Wadi Musa, Ma'an Governorate
You will leave the hotel early in the morning to drive south to the Nabatean Red Rose City of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, from the back end visit of Petra, a city 245 kilometers from the capital city of Amman, carved in stone more than 2000 years ago in order to dominate the trade silk and spice routes of ancient Arabia.
The Royal Tombs, Petra - Wadi Musa Jordan
First, you will walk thru the back end from Little Petra (Beida) – Siq Albarid to the farming village going up the mountains for an exceptional breath-taking view of the Monastery, then descend to the Byzantine Church and Qasr el Bint. Proceed to walk thru Wadi Farasa to see the Lion Fountain, Garden Triclinium, and the Roman Soldiers Tomb. You will enjoy the different stone colors and caves. Witness other monuments such as the 3,000-seater Theater and the Royal Tombs.
Al-Khazneh, Petra - Wadi Musa Jordan
Return to the Treasury “El - Khazneh”, which is the main monument of Petra. Admire this rose-pink masterpiece, originally built to house priceless treasures and capture it on camera.
Siq, Petra - Wadi Musa Jordan
This tour ends by returning thru the “siq”, a narrow path of 1.2 kilometers. As you explore, listen as your guide describes how the Nabateans sculpted the buildings, and learn how they mastered the harsh desert conditions to make their lives here. Enjoy free time to visit The Petra Museum; if there is time, then rejoin your vehicle and driver. Then, journey back to Amman, where your day trip ends with a hotel drop off.
