Itinerary

Step 1

You will be picked 6AM from your hotel/airport, Begin your tour to Nairobi National park through the main gate for a 4 hour game drive. The tour takes you to this unique wildlife sanctuary only 7 kms from the Nairobi bustling City Centre where you have chance to see 4 of the Big 5 (expect the elephant) against the back drop of the city tall buildings. Nairobi National Park Kenya's first ever National park is a unique and unspoilt wildlife haven within sight of the city's skyline. Rhino, buffalo, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, lion and plenty of antelopes and gazelles can be seen roaming in this open plains country with a section of highland forest as well as stretches of broken bush country, deep, rocky valleys and gorges with scrub and long grass. Ornithologists catch with over 300 bird species including the Secretary bird, crowned cranes, vultures, peckers and many more

Step 2

Then head to the elephant orphanage which is only open for a short period each day from 11:00 am to 12:00. Here you will learn more about the baby elephants and what led them to be orphans. You will get more information on raising them and the efforts being made to re-introduce them back to the wilderness.

Step 3

The next stop visit Kazuri or Kobe Bead Factory. This is a pottery company that makes one of the world most beautiful beads. You will be shown all the stages from the start to the finish. It’s also a unique factory as it employs single mother parents from the poor neighborhood who earn a living to support their families. This pottery, ceramic and bead factory employs all single mothers to make its beautiful gifts and souvenirs - which are now exported all around the world. There is a gift shop which stocks some of their wares. Please note that the workshop is closed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, however the gift shop is open 7 days. After this, you will have about an hour for lunch (own expense).

Then proceed to giraffe center

Here you see the magnificent creatures and learn why they are endangered. You will also learn their behaviors, traits and more conservation education as you feed them and maybe get a giraffe kiss.
