We will leave Tbilisi for Mestia

at 7 o'clock we will start the journey to western Georgia 220 km. We are crossing the Rikotski Pass and Kutaisi is waiting for us soon. We are in the Kolkheti lowlands, covered with many legends. Here the Argonauts under the command of Jason stole the golden fleece. In the surrounding mountains Prometheus was riding on a rock. This is the land of the eminent warriors of antiquity, where amazing events took place.

In the Bagrati temple we will personally see all the beauty and unique charm of the impressive Georgian architecture of a thousand years ago.

Underworld of Colchis
You will visit Kumistavi, where the colorful cave world of Colchis in all its glory will appear before you. On a 1,700-meter walking trail through the grottoes, you will see stalactites and stalagmites, underground waterfalls, rivers, and a lake. And in the famous Prometheus Cave (Amirani) let us recall the legend of a chained mythological hero who angered the gods.

700-m-long stone paved circular route starts from Martvili Canyon visitor center and crosses the Dadiani historical trail. There are 2 bridges, 3 platform views and historical 30 steps stair constructed by large limestone boulders. Visitors can enjoy a 300-meter boat tour on river Abasha and beautiful views of mountain river canyon.

Mestia was an important center of Georgian culture for centuries and contains a number of medieval monuments. Arrive in Mestia and visit the tower-museum of Margiani family, which dates back to the 12th century. Explore the tower.
