    Leave for Sinharaja Rain forest Early morning Bird watching trail,

    Sinharaja Rain Forest is Home to over 25 endemic species and a myriad of others, Sinharaja is fondly referred to as a bird watcher’s paradise. Indulge in the sound silence of the leafy everglades, in wait of the prize, Blue Magpie or the Sri Lanka White Eye.

    Rain forest walk, Take a trek through the quaint paths of Sinharaja where placid undergrowth lies in wait for the appreciation of all who wish to indulge in the tranquil wilderness of Sri Lanka’s world-renowned rainforest.

    Day 03 - Sinharaja to Yala National Park

    Evening safari at Bundala National Park

    The biodiversity of this park is immense: A total of 383 plant species have been recorded from the park, including 6 endemics and 7 species that are considered nationally threatened. It is also home to 32 different species of mammal, 5 of which are classified as threatened.

    The birdlife is also diverse. For keen bird-watchers, the complex wetland system harbors a rich bird life (approximately 197 species), including several species of migratory waterfowl. This has led to the declaration of the park as Sri Lanka’s first ‘Ramsar’ wetland – one of great international importance especially for migratory waterfowl

    Day 04 – Yala to Kitulgala

    Wake up early in the morning

    Leave Yala National Park

    Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s premier eco-tourism destinations, lies 24km northeast of Tissamaharama and 305 km from Colombo on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, spanning a vast 97,878 hectares over the Southern and Uva Provinces. The vegetation in the park comprises predominantly semi-arid thorny scrub, interspersed with pockets of fairly dense secondary forest. Small patches of mangrove vegetation also occur along the coastal lagoons.

    Makandawa rainforest is considered as the main interest of a nature lover and can result in you seeing many of the country’s endemic bird species such as Sri Lanka Orange-billed babbler and chestnut-backed owlet, as well as reptiles such as green pit viper and earless lizard and a variety of butterflies

    Sri Lanka white water rafting has become the no. 1 extreme sport in the country.Sri Lanka’s central region is mountainous and has a lot of rivers. When water flows at speed through rough terrain, it becomes bubbly, and we call this white water. Rafting in Sri Lanka through these turbulent waters, you will feel a sense of adventure like never before. White water rafting in Sri Lanka is popular because of several reasons. The less turbulent areas of the ride may be a great time to see wildlife, especially birds of many varieties and several species of monkey. The calmness does not last too long, though, as the main event the rapids come at you and toss and turn you with all its might. When white water rafting, you lose control of everything, and your body takes over to try to survive the experience. The sudden adrenaline rush you get when this happens is second to none.

    Located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa, the 8890 hectares of Minneriya National Park is an ideal eco-tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka’s favorites such as sambar deer, leopards, and elephants. However, the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built-in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena)

    Day 08 – Habarana to Kalpitiya

    Bird watching at Sigiriya Sanctuary Surrounding of Sigiriya Rock Fortress is a designated forest reserve and is a very good birding destination. Sigiriya sanctuary is a well protected area as it is a UNECO World Heritage Site, waterways and thick canopied forests make it a heaven for birds.

    Day 09 – Kalpitiya to Colombo

    Anawilundawa so special is the fact that it sits at a point where three very distinct eco-systems collide. Bordering the coast, Anawilundawa is also flanked by mangroves and freshwater lakes. This results in a huge diversity of resident and migratory species of animals and birds. Indeed, there are over 150 species of birds known to inhabit the sanctuary.

    Day 10 – Colombo to Airport

    Proceed to Colombo for a Colombo City Tour

    City tour of Colombo commencing with a visit to the Fort and the Pettah commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbor, lighthouse with clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament. Afterwards, proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka. 

    Stop will be made at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings. Continue to the old race course with a maze of buildings with colonial architecture, restaurants and shopping arcade passing through Colombo City Hall (mini replica of the White House in Washington, DC)
