About This Tour

Back in 1989, the Malaysian Wildlife Sanctuary established an elephant sanctuary within the Krau Wildlife reserve for rare Asian Elephants. This elephant sanctuary functions as a rehabilitation centre for the rescued elephants.

As of today, around 1200 elephants are estimated to be in the wild territory of Malaysia and approximately about 30 to 35 elephants are living in the Kuala Ganda Elephant Sanctuary. These elephants were migrated due to the continued poaching and logging for urban and agricultural development within the area. This conservation method was initiated to preserve the species, care for the young before they are released to the wild. The elephants which cannot survive by their own will be in the sanctuary for life long, then they will be trained to become the working community that serves to rescue the new wild needy elephants.

Tourists can engage in several activities with elephants. They can go near to have real interactions with these mammoth beings. Those who prefer to watch and observe can also do so at the observation deck set higher up. Our full day tour lasts for 8 hours with pick-up time at nine (9) in the morning. We pick up guests from where they are staying within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. For a small fee, those staying at the outskirts of the city can also schedule a pick-up.

Guests will be receiving the full tour private tour package including entrance fees, lunch with drinks, and free Wi-Fi on selected vehicles. This tour will take you to Kuala Gandah which located in Temerloh within the district of Pahang. The trip will take one and a half hours and guests will get to experience elephant feeding, elephant bathing (If situation permits/ viewing only), an elephant conservation documentary, and a complimentary visit to the King’s Palace (photo stop).

After the exciting day with the elephants, tourist will be provided with local lunch. On the way out from the sanctuary, guest will experience a view of the indigenous village (tribal/ native community). The deer land is also an interesting part of the tour where the tourist will be able to walk around and feed deer in a private mini zoo.
