🏁 Tour Itinerary: 11 Days Morocco Imperial Cities Tour

Day 1: Casablanca

Arrive at the airport, and transfer to the Hotel.

 

Day 2: Casablanca

After breakfast and at your hotel we will start the city tour of Casablanca. The economic capital of Morocco and the big city; very modern city, full of life and industrial capital of the country. Visit the exterior of the Royal Palace, with its immense doors, the elegant district of Anfa and the Corniche, visit the Mosque of Hassan II the biggest mosque after Mecca. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 3: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast, we will leave to visit the political capital of the country: Rabat. We begin with the Mausoleum, a prestigious building built-in memory of His Majesty Mohamed V, which is made of white marble, cedarwood and adorned with chiseled bronze. We will also visit the Mosque and the Hassan Tower, with its 200 columns and its Minaret, made of pink stone of great beauty. We will visit the Royal Palace if time allows as well as the old Kasbah Odaya. After free time for lunch. Next, we will drive to the city of Meknes. The vast palaces, the forty kilometers of wall, and the bastions next to its monumental doors give this city an immense aspect. The visit ends at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail the founder of the city. After the city tour of Meknes, we will head to Fez. Dinner and accommodation in Hotel.

 

Day 4: Fez World Heritage City Tour

After breakfast in your hotel we will start an explorative guided city tour of Fes in a full day of visiting the oldest of the imperial cities, Fez founded in 808 as the first political, religious and cultural capital. The visit begins at the Golden Gates of the Royal Palace. Later we will climb to a high place from where you can see, the wall and inside its impressive Medina, and then we will continue the city tour on foot, to discover a thousand sensations, mosques, and madrasas, religious places until we reach the tanners. Free time for lunch, and then visit the artisan’s workshops using their knowledge to invent the best handcrafts that giving Fez the well-deserved name of the city of artisans. Dinner and accommodation in Hotel.

 

Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Beni Mellal – Marrakech

In the morning, after breakfast, we will go through the Middle Atlas, through villages, mountains, and agriculture forming a beautiful landscape and where the most famous rivers of Morocco are born. Arrival in Ifrane where a very clean small city called small Switzerland, for its houses with pointed roofs in black slate, its lake in the center. Next, we will go to the city of Beni Mellal, free lunch and free time to explore it. Then we will continue to Marrakech. Arrival, dinner, and accommodation in Riad or hotel.

 

Day 6: Marrakech – Telouet – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Departure, after breakfast through the High Atlas Mountains by the Ticka pass with an attitude of 2260M, from these mountains we will take an off-road to reach the Kasbah of Telouet and the Ait-Ben-Haddou, marked by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In this spectacular setting, films of such renown as Gladiator or Jewel of the Nile have been shot. Free time for lunch. Then we will go to Ouarzazate, considered the gate of the great desert and place from which the great expeditions started in the past time, and where the Kasbah of Taourirt stands out, and the main palace of the Glaoui, the great Pacha of the South of Morocco, Dinner, and overnight in Riad.

 

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Gorges of Toudra – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast and we drive along a road of 1000 Kasbahs. After several stops for photos including a visit of an old Kasbah from the 16th century, we will reach one of the strong points of the South: The Gorges of Toudra. The channel of the Toudra River has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty; It is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Free lunch and then we will continue to the city of Erfoud, in this town we will stop to visit a fossils site to discover how it extracted and how they make it, to get different objects. From this town, we will drive east to reach the town of Merzouga, where you will be welcomed by a mint tea and prepare to start a new adventure but this time with camels. You will ride a camel for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset over the golden dunes of Erb Chebbi. Overnight in desert camp with dinner and breakfast animated by Berber music of the touareg.

 

Day 8: Ouzina – Ramlia – Lac Maider – Zagora

If you want to enjoy a wonderful moment of sunrise over the dunes, wake early in the morning to enjoy this rare sunrise. Then ride camel back to the hotel. After breakfast, we will drive along the road PARIS-DAKAR track towards Zagora. We will stop to visit the ruins of an Old Portuguese village and we will pass through several Berber villages with their houses built in adobe. After a stop for lunch, we will continue through the longest parl grove over 150KM to reach the city of Zagora in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 9: Zagora – Ouarzazate and Kasbah – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Marrakech. We will go through the green palm area and leafy Draa Valley, known as the largest palm grove in Morocco, where we will stop at the viewpoint to take some photos of the beautiful landscape. We will cross the High Atlas mountain range, by the Tizi-n-Tichka pass with its 2260 meters of height. Open your eyes well because along the way we will find amazed by the different Berber villages on the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Marrakech, dinner, and accommodation in Riad.

 

Day 10: Marrakech Guided City Tour

After breakfast in your accommodation, ze will start an explorative guided city tour to explore and discover the city of Marrakech the old capital of many empires and dynasties. We will start from the Koutoubia mosque to discover the amazing architecture of the mosque, and then we will continue not far to the Saadian tombs where the founders of the Saady dynasty meet, then continue to Bahia Palace, the residence of the former vizier; our journey continues to visit the Berber markets (souks) to explore the artisan’s workshops and finish in the famous Jamaa el Fna square, in the morning a great souk, and in the night a magical spectacle. Dinner and accommodation in Riad.

 

Day 11: Marrakech – Airport Transfer

After breakfast and at the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for a flight back home. Billing and boarding procedures. End of the trip and our services.
