Itinerary
: Fes - Ifran - Cedarst Forest - Medilt - ziz valley - Merzouga Desert
We will pick you up from you hotel or Riad at around 7:30 am for the fabulous journey up into the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop will be the delightful town of Ifrane, built by the French in the 1930's and known as Morocco's Switzerland. Next you will travel through the huge cedar forests around the Berber village of Azrou, The Rock in the local Berber dialect where the famous Barbary apes, actually macaque monkeys will attempt to share your lunch in their natural habitat. Then, passing through the Atlas Mountains, that are said to hold up the sky, winding your way through forested peaks, twisting mountain streams and springs and spectacular, rough rock walls.
After an exciting morning trip in the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will stop for lunch in the city of Midelt, which is also called the City of Apples, which is located at the end of the Middle Atlas Mountains and the beginning of the High Atlas, which gives it a special charm in the middle of the mountains.
After entering deep into the Atlas Mountains and witnessing the Berber inhabitants along the way, it was time to reach the largest oasis in Africa "Ziz valley. There, we beheld a stunning vista where palm trees and mountains converged in one place, separated by the mighty Ziz River, one of the largest rivers in the region.
Then we continue towards Merzouga in the road we will stop in a panoramic views to see the a huge oasis of palm tree. We reach Merzouga in the afternoon, diner with Saharan music and over night in traditional Kasbah .
Day 2 : Explore Merzouga Desert Aria
Sleep in or take our advice and wake up early to catch the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast you will be able to spend your day exploring the desert surrounding Merzouga as you like. Possible activities include: -Visiting the historical towns and palm groves around the Tafilalt Oasis (Rissani, Merzouga, ) -Visiting Khamlia village to hear Gnawa music, or relaxing around the desert tents In the late afternoon, once the day heat has subsided, we will trek out via camel back to a Berber camp site in the middle of the sand dunes, far away from the worries of the world. Here, your Berber hosts will cook traditional desert meals for you such as a delicious dish called Madfona and you may get the chance to drink camel's milk , while teaching you about their culture. Spend the evening huddled around the camp fire, venture out into the desert, or lie on a sand dune and gaze at the stars.
Day 3 : Merzouga Desert
On the third day, enjoy your time at your hotel amidst the golden sands of Merzouga, where you can relax in the morning, take in breathtaking views of the dunes, or swim in the hotel, followed by a quiet lunch. You can dedicate this day to additional activities such as quad biking to explore the dunes or visiting a nearby oasis. In the afternoon, take a trip to the top of the sand dunes at Erg Chebbi to witness the magical sunset and capture stunning photos. In the evening, return to the hotel for a delicious Moroccan dinner and spend a peaceful night under a star-filled sky, ready to bid farewell to the desert the next day.
Day 4 : Transfert To Fes Or Marrakech
Get up, early for the beckoning Erg Chebbi sunrise and deliciouse breakfast. Then prepare yourself to leave the hotel to your distination fez or marrakech with some stops on the way. (Break for lunch-on your own). Drop off. (Your hotel/riad Fez)
