Why we love it?
The Chiang Mai Volunteer Program offers a unique two-day experience focused on elephant care and conservation. Participants will assist Mahouts with their morning duties, gaining hands-on experience while learning about the importance of ethical treatment and rehabilitation of elephants. Itinerary
Day 1 Pick up from your hotel or accommodation
- Drive approximately 1.5 hours South of Chiang Mai through rolling hills, forest, and local farming areas.
- Arrive at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
- Learn about the elephants and change into traditional Karen clothing.
- Meet the elephants. Feed, interact, and play with the elephants in a natural environment as you learn about their behavior and history. Take photos with the elephants.

Take a short walk (1.5 km) with elephants
Please don't forget to bring a walking shoes
- Mud Spa with the elephants
- Walk with the elephants to a river and bathe them.
- After one day guests leave, relax with the elephant caretakers local people and elephants.
- Spend the night at one of our peaceful Elephant Jungle Sanctuary locations.
Day 2 Assist the Mahouts with their morning duties
- Trek through jungle terrain to another Elephant Jungle Sanctuary location and meet a new family of elephants
- Enjoy a lunch of traditional Thai food
- Relax, swim, or spend time with our elephants
- About 05.30 pm. Drop off at your accommodation

- Accommodation is in a 4-bed dorm room; private rooms are not available.
- No public transportation nearby
- Not wheelchair accessible
- A free pick-up/drop-off service is available within a 5 km radius of Chiang Mai Old Town. For locations beyond this area, a surcharge will apply.
- Our program will continue even in heavy rain. There will be no cancellations due to rain.
