Morning drive from skoura oasis takes you to the Rose Valley, then into Todra Gorges, a 200-meter fault running through a small valley that is densely forested and home to Berber villages. Our next stop is Merzouga, which boasts Morocco’s biggest natural subterranean water body and sits on the edge of Erg Chebbi’s vast sand dunes, after lunch in the canyon. We had dinner at a local restaurant and stayed the night in Merzouga. The’sea of sand’s’ mysteries will be revealed to you in the afternoon when you ride your camel and traverse the dunes. In a pristine paradise, we’ll make our last visit before heading home. Enjoy the solitude of the desert, take in the stunning scenery, and watch the magnificent sunset. While you’re there, look up at the sky and marvel at how brilliantly the stars twinkle. Traditional Berber tents are where you’ll spend the night.
