Itinerary
Step 1
Morning: 7:00 AM: Depart from Amritsar to Kapurthala. 9:00 AM: Arrive at Kapurthala and start your day with a visit to the stunning Jagatjit Palace, also known as the Moorish Mosque. This palace was built in the 20th century by the royal family of Kapurthala and is known for its unique blend of French and Indo-Islamic architectural styles. Explore the beautiful palace complex, including the grand Durbar Hall, lush gardens, and the exquisite mosque.
Step 2
10:30 AM: Visit the Jagatjit Club, which was once a popular social and recreational hub for the royal family of Kapurthala. Admire the colonial-era architecture and learn about the history and significance of this iconic club, which still serves as a prominent social institution in Kapurthala.
Step 3
Lunch: 12:00 PM: Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor local Punjabi cuisine or other culinary delights as per your preference.
Step 4
Afternoon: 1:00 PM: Explore the Shalimar Bagh, a beautiful Mughal-style garden located in Kapurthala. Admire the lush greenery, fountains, and pavilions in this serene garden, which was designed by French architect M. Marcel in the early 20th century. Take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the tranquil ambiance of this picturesque garden.
Step 5
2:00 PM: Visit the State Gobindgarh Palace, which was built in the 19th century and served as the residence of the royal family of Kapurthala. Explore the grand palace complex, including the ornate Durbar Hall, royal chambers, and the museum that houses a collection of artifacts showcasing the rich heritage of Kapurthala.
Step 6
Evening: 3:30 PM: Visit the Jagatjit Singh Museum, which is housed in a section of the Jagatjit Palace. This museum displays a fascinating collection of artifacts, including paintings, sculptures, coins, and manuscripts, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kapurthala and its royal family.
Step 7
6:00 PM: Return to Amritsar, marking the end of your private day tour.
