Itinerary

Day 1
  • Arrive Dibrugarh

  • On arrival at Dibrugarh airport assistance and transfer to hotel

    On arrival at Dibrugarh airport assistance and transfer to hotel. Renowned as the tea city of India, Dibrugarh is one of the major cities with massive growth in communication and industrial sector.

    Visit Jokai Botanical Garden cum Germplasm Center, which has some endangered plant species. Shrikshetra Dhaam, Lord Jagannath Temple which is the replica of the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri Odisha, one of the most important temples in Assam. Koli Aai Thaan which is the spiritual centre dedicated to Koli Aai whose teachings still hold a large place in people’s heart. You can visit Sarumechlow and Bormechow Maidam which are the graves of 2 queens belonging to the Ahom Dynasty; Dehing Satra that holds the ruins belonging to Ahom Dynasty; the Buddhist Monastery at Namphake Village; and many more places like these.

    Rest time to visit the local market, followed by cultural program in the evening at a Heritage Bungalow.

Day 2

Dibrugarh - Shangnyu Village - Mon (120kms/ 3hrs approx)

  • Breakfast at hotel, drive to Shangnyu village, here you will see the wooden monument measuring 8feet in height and 13feet in breath believed to be constructed by the heavenly angles. Human being and other creatures are carved on this monument. One can also see the memorial stone erected infront of the Angh's house. Post lunch visit Chui village bear a witness of the true Konyak Naga traditional house where the main pillar of the house jutting out of the roof. Dinner

Day 3

Mon - Mokokchung (155kms/ 4hrs approx)

  • Breakfast at hotel, drive to Mokokchung the headquarter of the Ao Nagas

    Breakfast at hotel, drive to Mokokchung the headquarter of the Ao Nagas. They are known for their colourful attires and are regarded of having the most motifs shawl among the Nagas, which usually speaks the person's status in the community. Drive to Longkhum village (Ao village) which was known as the vanguard of the Ao region during the spear and dao era. As the village is situated at 1586 mt. above sea level we can see some part of Himalaya on a clear winter morning. Explore Mopunchket village bamboo forest. Dinner

Day 4

Mokokchung - Tuophema (115Kms/ 3hrs approx)

  • After breakfast drive to Touphema village & then walk to Angami village. This is a village resort where the community plays a very important role in running this place. You will be staying in huts with all modern amenities. Lunch will be served and we will take a tour of both the old Touphema village and the new, visit the village museum. In the evening enjoy cultural entertainment by the villagers. Dinner & overnight in community resort huts.

Day 5

Tuophema

  • Explore the surroundings and walk through the village and the forested area. After breakfast take a trail to the neighbouring Rengma village through the forest. The trail is soft trekking and will reach the village in 3 ½ hrs. Take a tour of this village. Lunch is served at this village. Return to Touphema village for dinner.

Day 6

Tuophema - Kohima (35kms/ 1.3hrs approx)

  • Breakfast at hotel drive to Kohima check in at hotel

    Breakfast at hotel drive to Kohima check in at hotel. Later visit the State Museum where you get a glimpse of the tribal life and colourful costumes of the Nagas. The local market where many insects and variety of food products that the Nagas call delicacies are sold. The II World War Memorial where the famous 'Tennis Court' battle took place, which many historians have called the 'bloodiest battle'. Return to hotel for lunch. After lunch we visit Kisama Heritage Village. This is the site where the annual Hornbill festival from the 1st Dec-7th Dec is celebrated. Here you will get a glimpse of the different architectural styled houses of the 16 tribes of Nagaland. Dinner

Day 7

Kohima - Khonoma (20kms/ 1hrs approx)

  • Breakfast at hotel drive to Khonoma, a village with its own unique story of courage and valour. The villagers fought a pitched battle against the British who came on an expedition to the Naga Hills in Oct of 1879. The terraced fields on the slopes near the village provide a delightful view. The village is also known for its artisans and craftsmen. Spend the day interacting with the villagers. We take a delightful walk to Khonoma village from the main gate. Take a tour of the village after lunch and feel the history come to life. Lunch, dinner.

Day 8

Khonoma

  • Explore the surroundings

    Explore the surroundings. This morning we take a soft trekking route through the reserve forest to the Tragopan bird sanctuary. Have picnic lunch cooked in open fire and return by early evening to the village.

Day 9

Khonoma - Imphal (150kms/ 4hrs approx)

  • After breakfast drive to Imphal check in at hotel. Later city tour covering monuments, temples and ceremonial places highlighting Imphal's rich past. Visit Kangla Fort Palace once the seat of local rulers, and now houses relics. Centuries-old Polo Ground, Manipur State Museum which displays includes tribal artifacts and a large royal boat. Next to the former Royal Palace, Shri Shri Govindaji Temple has twin domes, a large hall and shrines to Hindu gods. Also visit the Khwairamband Bazaar and the War Cemeteries.

Day 10

Imphal - Keibul Lamjao National Park - Imphal (150kms/ 8hrs approx round)

  • Breakfast at hotel

    Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park (the only foating park in the world). It is the last natural habitat of the marsh dwelling brow-antiered deer locally called 'Sangai'. Drive to Moirang, the ancient capital of the Manipuri Kings. It is also the centre of Meithei culture. Visit Loktak and Sendra Island. Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in the North East. Watch the unique floating islands 'Phumdi' that are actually floating weeds on which people live ! Evening back to Imphal for dinner & overnight atay at hotel.
