Itinerary

Stop 1

8:00 AM - Pick up from your hotel in Mangalore Your driver will arrive at your hotel in Mangalore at 8:00 AM, ready to take you on your full day excursion to Belur and Halebeedu.

8:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Drive to Belur (180kms/ 4hrs approx one way) You'll start your journey towards Belur, which is approximately 180 kilometers from Mangalore. The drive will take approximately 4 hours, during which you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.

Stop 2

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM - Visit Chennakeshava Temple in Belur Upon arriving in Belur, you'll head straight to the Chennakeshava Temple, which is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. The temple is a star-shaped structure on a raised platform, made of black stone with intricate carvings. You can see the winged figure of Garuda at the entrance, and 650 charging elephants on the frieze around the walls outside.

During your visit to the temple, you'll have the opportunity to admire the intricate carvings and sculptures that adorn the temple walls, including the exotic bracket figures that are serene, playful, and amorous.

Stop 3

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Lunch break at a local restaurant (at your own expense).

Stop 4

After sightseeing drive back to Mangalore and drop off to your hotel.

Stop 5

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Drive to Halebeedu (17kms from Belur) After lunch, you'll head to Halebeedu, which is located just 17 kilometers from Belur. The drive will take approximately 1 hour, during which you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.

Stop 6

3:00 PM to 4:30 PM - Visit Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebeedu Upon arriving in Halebeedu, you'll visit the Hoysaleswara Temple, which is a sculptural masterpiece with finely detailed scroll work in stone, depicting a variety of gods and goddesses. As you explore the temple, you'll be amazed by the intricacy and beauty of the carvings, which are a testament to the skill and artistry of the Hoysala craftsmen.

In addition to the Hoysaleswara Temple, you can also visit the nearby Jain bastics, which are known for their architectural beauty and historical significance.

Stop 7

4:30 PM to 8:30 PM - Drive back to Mangalore and drop off at your hotel. After exploring the temples in Halebeedu, you'll begin your journey back to Mangalore. The drive will take approximately 4 hours, during which you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel in Mangalore at approximately 8:30 PM
