Itinerary
Step 1
7:00am - Pick up from your hotel in Mumbai and drive to Lonavala, a picturesque hill station located about 83 km away from the city.
Step 2
9:00am - Arrive at Karla Caves, one of the oldest Buddhist rock-cut cave temples in India. Explore the intricate carvings and stunning architecture of the caves, including the massive Chaitya Hall. Your expert guide will provide you with a detailed explanation of the history, architecture, and significance of the caves.
Step 3
11:00am - Visit the nearby Bhaja Caves, which are known for their ancient Buddhist stupas and rock-cut sculptures. Your guide will take you through the history and significance of each cave, including the intricate carvings and stunning architecture. You will also get to see the unique water cisterns carved out of the rock, which were used to store rainwater.
Step 4
1:00pm - Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Lonavala.
Step 5
2:00pm - Visit Lonavala's scenic viewpoints, including the famous Tiger Point and Sunset Point. Take in the breathtaking views of the Sahyadri mountain range and surrounding valleys. Your guide will also take you to visit Lonavala's local markets, where you can shop for souvenirs, including the famous chikki - a sweet made from jaggery and nuts.
Step 6
4:00pm - After a full day of sightseeing, it's time to head back to Mumbai. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or preferred location in Mumbai.
