Itinerary

Stop 1

Please note that your tour guide will not accompany you to Robben Island. Instead, a resident guide on the island will lead the tour. We will arrive at the ferry terminal at any time depending on the boat tickets, to board ferry. The entire excursion will last 3.5-4 hours, including transfers. Upon reaching Murray's Bay Harbour, you will disembark and walk to the bus for a guided tour by a former political prisoner. This tour includes viewing Nelson Mandela's cell and taking the Long March to Freedom in his footsteps. You will return to the V&A Waterfront, where your guide will meet you

Stop 2

If open, we will take a scenic drive along Chapmans Peak Drive, stopping briefly at the viewpoint for 10 minutes to take photos. We'll then continue along the Atlantic Seaboard, passing through Camps Bay, Clifton, and Bantry Bay en route to the V&A Waterfront.

Stop 3

We continue our tour to the African Penguin colony in Boulder, where we will visit these enchanting sea creatures. As you walk along the boardwalk on the way to the viewpoint, keep an eye out for one or two penguins who may be waddling alongside you.

Stop 4

From the Cape of Good Hope, we can either take a short hike to Cape Point or ride the Funicular up. At the southwestern tip of Africa, known as Cape Point, we will see where the cold Benguela current from the Atlantic meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean. We will also tour the lighthouse and more.

Stop 5

We will take a drive to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Lighthouse, where we can explore the history of Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco da Gama. These two Portuguese explorers were the first Europeans to reach the Cape of Good Hope, with Dias arriving in 1487 and da Gama following in 1495. At the Cape of Good Hope, you'll have the chance to take a photo behind the iconic name board overlooking the point where these historic seafarers first landed.
