Itinerary
Stop 1
You will arrive in Amboise, which has a breath taking view of the Loire River, the Saint Hubert Chapel—famous for being Leonardo da Vinci's final resting place—and its vast gothic defensive features, which send you back to the ancient era of knights on horseback.
You will make a brief stop in Amboise at Clos Lucé, which was Leonardo da Vinci's official house from 1516 to 1519.
After that, you'll carry on travelling to Chenonceaux, a true gem with his exquisite gardens. It's a stunning fusion of Renaissance and Gothic design elements. With its distinctive design, elaborately carved interior, and romantic, rivalry-filled past, Chenonceaux, also known as the "Chateau des dames," is a castle unlike any other. It spans the Cher River and has been enticing people for hundreds of years.
Finally, you will find the largest of the Châteaux, Chambord, in the afternoon. See for yourself, with its enormous mediaeval towers expertly melded with Renaissance grace. This old royal home, set on 13,000 acres of parkland, is the epitome of France's architectural revolution of the 16th century. The double helix spiral staircase at the centre of the château, which is said to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci, is simply astounding.
