After that, we visit the Muslim Quarter. Lastly, the Great Mosque, one of the most important Islamic mosques in China. Its construction started in 1742 and additions were made during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is a combination of traditional Chinese architecture and Islamic art. The Great Mosque was added to the UNESCO Islamic Heritage List in 1985.
