Itinerary

Step 1

First, we visit the Bai Tho Mountain at 186 meters high. The Mountain offers a magnificent view that includes the shimmering water, the endless sky and the amazing islands that are scattered across the Ha Long Bay.

Step 2

At the base of the mountain lies Long Tien Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Ha Long City. It was built in 1941 as a place to worship Buddha, but it also has altars that are dedicated to the warriors of the Tran Dynasty and to the Holy Mother of Three Palaces

Step 3

Next, visit the Temple of Tran Quoc Nghien, which is situated in an elevation at the foot of Bai Tho Mountain, in the area of Ben Doan - Hon Gai, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, looking to the sea. The temple is dedicated to Tran Quoc Nghien, one of Tran Hung Dao's sons, a brave and talented general in the resistance against the Yuan-Mongol invaders

Step 4

Continue further is a visit to Hon Gai Church, built at the beginning of the 20th century. Located on a high hill, it overlooks the whole city of Ha Long. In 1972, it was destroyed by the war, but in 1998, was spaciously re-built and is now the largest church in Quang Ninh Province. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Step 5

Have lunch

Afternoon

visit Quang Ninh Provincial Museum (closed on Monday) - exhibiting the early cultures of Ha Long, Ly and Tran Dynasties, Quang Ninh's ethnic groups, times of wars, history of the region's coal industry, revolutionary tradition of working class in mining area and more.
