Itinerary

Day 1 Punta Arenas
  • Arrival and Transfer to Puerto Natales

    Reception at Punta Arenas Airport (we recommend you take the first flight to Punta Arenas, arriving before 12:00 pm) Transfer to the city, time at leisure (lunch on behalf of passengers). Early afternoon, transfer to the local terminal to take the regular bus heading the city of Puerto Natales.

    Duration: 3 hours. on arrival to Puerto Natales, transfer from terminal to hotel.

Day 2 Day 2

    Full Day Sarmiento and Amarga entrances Trek

    Distance of the trail: 3.7 miles Difficulty: Easy Total elevation of the trail: 246 feet. Pick up at hotel to go to the Lago Sarmiento Entrance, where we will begin our trek of near 6 km (3.7 miles). We will follow a softly inclined track, with a view of the Sarmiento Lake, hunting area of the puma.

    After walking for 1 hour, we will see rock paintings of about 6000 years old. Hunter groups that were the first inhabitants of Patagonia frequented this place.

    Then, we will go on to the Blanquillos Lagoon, nesting place of different birds. After 3 hours of trek, we will reach the Laguna Amarga Entrance, where we will be able to see the watercolour variation because of the sediment and minerals. Here we will enjoy our box lunch, with a view of the Torres del Paine. Finally, we will pass by the Cañadón Macho, natural habitat of guanacos' groups, in the way back to the city of Puerto Natales.

    Full Day Base Las Torres Trek

    Distance of the trail: 12.4 miles Difficulty: High Total elevation of the trail: 2,297 feet. We will leave Puerto Natales towards the Torres del Paine National Park. After a 2-hour trip, the starting point for our hike. First, guide will give a short presentation, and then will begin hiking on the trail that will take us to an old bridge that crosses the Ascencio River. After a 1.5 hour hike, we will arrive at El Chileno Campsite shaded by a breathtaking lenga tree forest, crossing numerous springs cascading from the Almirante Nieto Mountain.

    We will make a short stop and then continue on our way to the next lookout point at an altitude of 700 meters (2,297 ft.). From here, the trail will get steeper and a half an hour later we will reach the Las Torres Base from the eastern side of the lagoon. Here we will have a stunning view of the three towers, if the cloud conditions allow it. Time to rest and eat box lunch. We will return on the same trail and we will go back to Puerto Natales.

    In due time, transfer from the hotel to bus station in Puerto Natales to board the public bus destination Punta Arenas Airport (245 km/3 hours drive).
