Known as a historical monument in Salzburg, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mirabell Palace will astonish you with its geometrically-arranged gardens. The gardens include mythological sculptures from 1730, and Greek and Roman statues sculpted by Ottavio Mosto in 1690.
Here is the residence of the great Mozart until the age of 17. Built in the 12th century, the house is now a museum retracing the life of this amazing composer. Also named Grain Lane, it is a shopping street located in the old town of Salzburg. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, you will walk by this narrow street full of high-town houses and iron guild emblems. Since 1987, the street is the theater of a famous lady called "the puppet woman", and her puppets on sell.
Salzburg Cathedral is a Baroque cathedral from the 17th century. First founded by Saint Rupert in 774 on a Roman town, it has been rebuilt after a fire from 1181. It is in this Cathedral that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was baptized. You can still observe the baptismal used for his baptism.
Also named St. Peter's Cemetery, it is the oldest cemetery in Salzburg and one of its most popular attractions. Petersfridhof also includes amazing catacombs and two chapels from the 12th and 15th centuries. It is a great promenade to enjoy it.
The fortress is one of the biggest medieval castles in Europe. Located on a hill of 506 meters high, the fortress offers a nice view of the city of Salzburg. The Citadel contains the Salzburg Bull, the Golden Hall, and Chamber, but also the Bedchamber of the Prince-Bishop.
Stift Nonnberg, or Nonnberg Abbey, is a Benedictine cloister and the oldest convent in Germany. Also a UNESCO site, the place has a great architecture like the wooden Gothic altar made by the sculptor Veit Stoss.
