Itinerary

Day 1 DAY 1 Arequipa - San Juan de Chuccho
  • Chivay

    Very early in the morning, we will depart to the town of Chivay with our transport, in a journey of 4 hours. Upon arrival, we will have breakfast.

  • Condor's Cross

    The tour continues to the Condor’s cross (3,800 m.a.s.l.). Here, we’ll have the great opportunity to see and admire the incredible Condor flying around.

  • San Juan de Chuccho

    Then, we will reach Pampas de San Miguel (3,300 m.a.s.l.), the starting point of the trekking.

    We will descend to the depth of the canyon along 4.6 miles, until we reach San Juan de Chuccho (2,400 m.a.s.l.). This town is surrounded by beautiful and abundant vegetation. In this place we’re going to have lunch and dinner, and spend the night. Overnight at a basic familiar guesthouse

Day 2 DAY 2 San Juan de Chuccho - Sangalle
  • Cosñirhua & Malata

    After breakfast, we are going to start a total trek of 2.5 miles, taking uphill and downhill paths, and visiting lovely traditional towns such as Cosñirhua, with the opportunity to admire pre Incan ruins. We will also pass through the town of Malata, where we can see its old Spanish church. We’re going have time for lunch.

  • Sangalle

    Later, we will descend until reach the Oasis of Sangalle (2,225 m.a.s.l.) to spend the night. Here, you can take a refreshing bath in the pool and enjoy lunch. We can make short tours around the oasis (optional).

    At night, we will enjoy a delicious dinner, and have time for a well deserve rest. Overnight at a basic familiar guesthouse

Day 3 DAY 3 Sangalle - Arequipa
  • Cabanaconde

    The tour starts very early in the morning, with an amazing trek of 3 hours (2.5 miles), ascending the slope of the canyon until we reach the town of Cabanaconde.

  • Chivay

    After having breakfast in this picturesque town, we will take the transport to go to Chivay.

  • Maca

    On the way, we are going to visit the viewpoint of Antahuilque, with amazing landscapes to Inca terraces. Also we will stop by the town of Maca, which stands out for its beautiful colonial church.

  • Yanque

    The town of Yanque offers us its hot springs (optional*).

  • Back to Arequipa

    Then, we’re going to the town of Chivay to lunch (optional*). On our way back to Arequipa, we are going to have the opportunity to pass through the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas, home of camelids as alpaca, vicuña and llamas.

    Upon arrival, we will drop you off two blocks from Plaza de Armas of Arequipa.
