Itinerary

Fortaleza

We will start our tour at the hotels in Fortaleza on our way to Beira Mar Avenue.

Beira Mar Avenue

Beira Mar Avenue is a maritime avenue, which surrounds the beaches of Iracema and Meireles. During the afternoons on the avenue runs a popular handicraft fair, the Beira Mar Handicraft Market, ideal for buying a souvenir of your trip. This neighborhood has a poetic, economic and historical importance for the city, in addition to housing the local port.

Praia do Futuro

Praia do Futuro is the most popular beach in Fortaleza. It is well-prepared for tourism and away from the urban area, so its waters are clean and suitable for swimming. We will pass through the Aldeota neighborhood, which is considered one of the chicest. There you will find the Dom Luís Avenue, a tribute to the archbishop of Fortaleza; the Portugal Square, which pays homage to the sailors and colonists; and the Nuestra Señora del Líbano Church, the only orthodox church in the city. In addition, it is also in Aldeota that the mausoleum of former president Castelo Branco is located.

Centro Dragão do Mar

At the Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura, one of the most important in the state, there are movie theaters, a planetarium, and the city's Museum of Contemporary Art. At night this place is very lively, with bars, nightclubs, and live music.

Mercado central

The Central Market of Fortaleza is the largest handicraft market in northeastern Brazil. Like several other cities in the Brazilian northeast, Fortaleza stands out for its production of high-quality handicrafts and for the talent of its artisans. Here you will find leather products such as sandals, shoes, hats, bags and suitcases; fabric works such as bed linen, embroidery, T-shirts, and lace tablecloths. In addition, crafts are produced with many other materials such as sand (the famous little bottles with drawings made in sand), wood, glass, coconuts, etc. that you can buy as souvenirs.

Catedral Metropolitana de Fortaleza

The present church was built on the site of the old church. The work took forty years to complete, starting in 1938, and was inaugurated in 1978. It has a capacity for five thousand people and its towers reach 75 meters high. It appears in the neo-Gothic or moderate Gothic style, occupying a large part of Peter II Square, and was inaugurated on December 22, 1978.

The tour ends with the transfer of the passengers back to their hotels.
