You will be transferred from the airport to the Hotel in Mendoza. Located in the foothills of the Andes mountains means nearby rafting, camping, and sightseeing and it is a wine center for Argentina.
At 2:30 PM, we will be picked up from our selected hotels and travel to the Luján de Cuyo and Maipú regions, home to some of Mendoza’s most renowned wineries.
Along this route to Luján de Cuyo, we will immerse ourselves in the region’s rich winemaking heritage, shaped by immigrant communities who transformed the desert landscape into a productive oasis. Using irrigation techniques inherited from indigenous cultures—such as canals and ditches—they made viticulture possible in this unique environment. Within this setting, prestigious wineries flourished, helping position Argentina as a world-class wine producer thanks to the exceptional quality of its wines.
We will visit two wineries in Maipú where we will learn about both traditional winemaking methods and the incorporation of modern technology. Guided by expert winery staff and oenologists, we will discover the vinification process, including wine production, bottling, and labeling. Each visit concludes with a tasting of their finest wines.
Additionally, we will visit an olive oil producer to observe the olive oil production process, known for its excellent quality, followed by a tasting.
Early in the morning along the Mendoza river, you will get a view of the majestic mountain range Cordon del Plata and the Potrerillos dam, colossal work for hydraulic power generation and water distribution for irrigation. Your next visit will be Uspallata, pre-Hispanic settlement of aboriginal Huarpes and the southern last point of the Inca Empire, as far as the Inca Trail from Peru.
After visiting the villages of Picheuta, polvareda, Punta de Vacas and Los Penitentes ski resort. You will have free time for the use of chair lift that allows us to enjoy beautiful panoramic views.
Later, we will find along our route, the Puente del Inca, architectural work with strands of natural hot springs. Following the international route to reach our ultimate destination, the village Las Cuevas, European-style located 3200 meters above sea level. Between Las Cuevas Village and the International Tunnel we will find the route that allows us to climb to the Cristo Redentor, which is only open in summer. This beautiful monument symbolizes the union between Argentines and Chileans.
After this day of enjoying the outside, the nature and historic places, we will be back at our hotels to get some rest and get ready for tomorrow when this amazing tour will end and we will start our way back to Buenos Aires.
