Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1

    Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

    The tour starts by pick up at 7am at your Nairobi Hotel. The journey takes a drive down the Great Rift Valley stopping at the viewpoint for photography. You then continue on to get to Hell's Gate National Park to arrive at 9:30am. Once at the Park, you have the option of a game drive in a Safari vehicle or take bikes into the Park. Cycling in the Park is a great adventure as you get to ride the bikes for 7 Kilometers before resting at a ranger's post. After a brief stop at the rangers post you leave the bike and start a walking safari. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, stop by a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life and customs in the Great Rift Valley, then head to your Lodge for lunch . Explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour . Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here. At 4pm, finish the day with return transfer to your Lodge

    Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

    From your lodge at Lake Naivasha, you wake up in the morning, take your breakfast and leave Lake Naivasha at 8:30am for Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey will take you 3.5 hours to cover the 250 kilometers from Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve. You shall get to Masai Mara at 11:30am. Upon arrival, you start with game viewing drives heading towards your reserved camp or lodge. You get to the camp at 1:20pm, check-in and have lunch awaiting afternoon game drives. In the afternoon, you will leave the camp/lodge at 3:00pm and drive to the jungle to search for animals till late afternoon at 6:30pm. Thereafter you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

    Masai Mara National Reserve Full Day

    After breakfast spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. You will have picnic lunches in the Reserve as you scale the Mara beauty sitted at the banks of Mara river. Optional: In the evening, Visit the local Masai village for a Masai cultural tour at USD20. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local Masai people. An option of a balloon safari at a discounted USD450 per person can be organised early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and vultures

    Masai Mara to Nairobi

    Have a morning drive to try and search for what we have not sported before returning to the camp for lunch and checkouts. Say 'kwaheri' a Swahili word for good-bye to the pastoral Maasai as you depart for Nairobi to catch a flight at the airport on your way back home.
