Itinerary
Hotel pickup 930 am
930 am hotel pickup brings us to "base camp", our shop in the center of Chiang Mai where we get fitted for bikes, helmets and gloves.
1hr Shuttle to Doi Pui Summit @ Doi Suthep National Park
A 1 hr drive up through the Doi Suthep National Park brings us up to our starting point, Doi Pui Summit 1550m
Briefing and skill check at the Doi Pui summit start place 1550 m
Here we spend time getting everybody ready , check the bikes, fit all the safety equipment, do a briefing with "role by" especially beneficial for our beginners. Now we are ready to ride the mountain from 1550 m to the valley floor 370m.
Hill Tribe Cafe Plantation "smell the roses" Rest Stop
A rewarding 30 minutes ride on easy jeep track and we arrive now by mountain bike at our favorite Coffee plantation Huts where we have facilities, access to coffee of course and assorted snacks are available for purchase. A great place to regroup. Great views of the upper valley, pleasant temperature and good company keeps us here for a short while.
Hmong Hill tribe Village visit near the summit.
After a good break we now head by mountain bike through the summit Hmong Village stopping for another amazing view point facing the city (east). We visit the local school and meet the locals.
2 hr Main descent from the mountain top Village to Lake Huay Tueng Thao (1550m - 370 m) by mountain bike.
The double track off road jeep tracks leads us now down the mountain, past plantations, highland forest and unforgetable view points to lake Huay Tueng Tao at the valley floor .
Late Lunch at Lake Huay Tueang Thao
We arrive at the lake around 2:30 pm, everyone is hungry for the delicious Thai food offered right at the lakes shore huts , some fancy a swim, everyone is relaxed and chilling by the water.
4 pm Hotel Drop Off
No one is in a hurry to leave this nice place at the lake. When ready we jump on the truck and a 20 minute drive puts us back into the city . we now drop everyone off at their hotels. A great day with a great ending .
