    Visit Sigiriya Rock

    Sigiriya o is an ancient rock [ ] in the northern [ ] near the town of [ ] in the [ ], [ ]. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the [ ], this site was selected by King [ ] (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes.

    Galmaduwa Temple, A short turn off from the Kundasale Road just outside of kandy and you will come upon a strange sight: the unfinished Galmaduwa Viharaya. Traditionally ascribed to King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe, it is said that while this building was being completed the king heard of the discovery of a cave at Degaldoruwa and stopped the work on Galmaduwa shifting his attention to Degaldoruwa.     Day 06 - Nuwara Eliya To Negombo

    Victoria Park Originally the park was the research field of Hakgala Botanical Garden The park was formerly named in 1897 to commemorate Queen Vicktoria 's Diamond Jubilee The park was established with the planting of its first tree, an [ ], by a visiting German Princess. The Nanu Oya River runs through the park, creating a number of small lakes. A number of rare bird species can be found in the park. At the far end of the park is a small children's playground and miniature rideable railway.

    Commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst the oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbor, a lighthouse with a clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament.

    Proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka. Stops will be made at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings. Continue to the old race course with a maze of buildings with colonial architecture, Shopping in Colombo.
