Itinerary

Departure from hotels in downtown Chengdu (Pick-up service)

8:00–8:30 Hotel Pickup

Our guide will drive to your hotel to pick you up.

08:30 — Depart punctually from Chengdu city center. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes, arriving at the scenic area at 09:00.

Giant Panda Base

09:00–10:30 Visit the Giant Panda Base

Chengdu Panda Base was founded in 1987. It started with 6 giant pandas that were rescued from the wild. By 2008, it had 124 panda births, and the captive panda population has grown to 83.

Departing from the Panda Base for the Leshan Giant Buddha

10:30-12:30 

We will drive to the Leshan Giant Buddha.

The total distance is approximately 150 kilometers, and the drive takes about 2 hours.

Arriving in the vicinity of the Leshan Scenic Area

12:30–13:30: Lunch Nearby

Dine at the scenic area entrance, enjoying *Qiaojiao* Beef and *Bobo* Chicken, followed by a brief rest.

Visiting the Leshan Giant Buddha

13:30–16:30 Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha

The Leshan Giant Buddha is a stone statue standing 71 meters (233 feet) tall, originally constructed between 713 and 803 AD (during the Tang Dynasty). The statue faces Mount Emei, with river waters flowing past its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world, as well as the tallest non-modern statue in existence.

Departing from Leshan, returning to Chengdu.

We will depart for Chengdu at 16:30. Our guide will drop you off at your hotel; the drive takes approximately 2 hours, and we expect to arrive back in the Chengdu city center around 18:30.
