Itinerary
Golden Morning Escape: Nagarkot Sunrise & Hike to Changu Narayan – 1 Day
4:30 AM – Hotel Pickup in Kathmandu
Your day starts early—but trust us, it’s worth it. Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel for the scenic drive to Nagarkot, about 32 km away. It’s still dark when we leave, but by the time we arrive, the horizon is glowing.
6:00 AM – Sunrise from Nagarkot Viewpoint
At the ridge-top viewpoint, the world feels silent. Then slowly, the peaks begin to light up. Snowy Himalayan giants—like Everest, Manaslu, Langtang, and Dorje Lakpa—glow orange and gold as the sun rises. It’s peaceful, stunning, and surprisingly emotional.
This moment isn’t about taking the perfect photo. It’s about being still and just letting the mountains speak.
7:00 AM – Breakfast in Nagarkot
After sunrise, we stop at a nearby café for a warm breakfast. Simple, fresh, and satisfying—think local eggs, toast, porridge, or hot momos served with Nepali tea or coffee and a view of the valley.
8:00 AM—Start the Hike to Changu Narayan
Now begins the walk—gentle, mostly downhill, and around 3 to 4 hours long. You’ll follow quiet trails through farmland, pine forests, and villages, where people still live in harmony with the land.
The hike isn’t rushed. There’s time to pause, take photos, chat with your guide, or say hello to the kids walking to school. You’ll likely share parts of the path with goats, friendly dogs, or an old farmer carrying a basket of greens on her back.
11:30 AM – Arrive at Changu Narayan Temple
This temple isn’t just old—it’s ancient, dating back to the 4th century. Nestled on a ridge, surrounded by peaceful villages, the Changu Narayan Temple is a living museum of Nepali art and history. Walk its stone courtyards, admire intricate wooden carvings, and hear stories of Vishnu and the kings who once ruled this valley.
It’s the perfect place to end the hike—quiet, sacred, and full of history.
12:30 PM – Optional Lunch & Drive Back to Kathmandu
If you’d like, we’ll stop at a local restaurant near the temple for lunch (not included in the package—pay as you go). After that, we drive back to Kathmandu, arriving by around 2:30–3:00 PM, depending on traffic.
You’ll be back at your hotel by mid-afternoon, with a light heart, tired feet, and a story to tell.
