Why we love it?

This six-day safari begins in Arusha before journeying into the Central Serengeti, where you’ll spend several days tracking the diverse wildlife that defines this iconic region. Your experienced guide will help you spot key species such as lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, and possibly the elusive black rhino, while also keeping an eye out for the Great Migration’s vast herds of wildebeest and zebra if your trip coincides with that season. The adventure continues with a visit to Ngorongoro Crater, where permanent water and grasslands support a year-round population of animals including black-maned lions, hippos, jackals, and hyenas. Accommodation ranges from tented camps to lodges, providing comfort after full days of game drives in a private 4x4 vehicle. This itinerary is suited to travelers seeking a concentrated experience of Tanzania’s premier wildlife areas, combining the open plains of the Serengeti with the unique ecosystem of Ngorongoro.

Each day is different here, full of surprises, but we focus of course on the Great Migration, that unique natural wonder which involves a cast of breathtaking numbers, literally hundreds of thousands of animals making their annual journey across the plains as they search for food. Zebra and wildebeest are the most numerous of the migrating animals, grazing on the short-grass plains. But your driver-guide will also be on the lookout for other wildlife, too, using his expertise and ‘eagle-eyes’ to try to find elephant, lions, buffalo, leopard, and cheetah – just some of the many, many species you will surely encounter in this unforgettable location.

Although animal-spotting in the Central Serengeti is rewarding throughout the year, you are visiting the area during its peak season for wildlife. This is an area renowned for lion and cheetah, although of course sightings can never be guaranteed.

A real bonus in this part of the Serengeti would be to see a rare black rhino and your driver-guide will be on the lookout for this enigmatic and beautiful creature. Exhilarated but tired, you will welcome the comforts of your accommodation at the end of another unforgettable day. Relax in your lodge surroundings before enjoying a hot meal in the wilderness, then fall asleep in comfort in this unique setting
