Why we love it?

This three-hour sightseeing tour of Athens offers a detailed look at the city’s modern history beyond the classical landmarks. You will explore the vibrant center of Athens, including Monastiraki Square and its surrounding important buildings, the neoclassical Academy of Athens along with three other architecturally significant buildings on the Road of Academias, and an old aristocratic house featuring a Byzantine Art exhibition with selected highlights. The tour also includes a visit to the most popular Byzantine church in Athens, where the art and religious symbolism are explained, as well as the dungeons of the Gestapo from World War II, or alternatively the National Park with its three notable statues and the Roman Baths. Along the way, you will learn about the unique statue of the General who led the Greek Revolution in 1821, gaining insights into Athens’ heritage that are not typically covered in mainstream tours.
