Meet at Meeting point

Meeting Point & Security Screening

Meet your official guide outside the Vatican Museums entrance. After a brief introduction and distribution of audio headsets (so you can hear your guide clearly), you will proceed through the priority partner line for security screening before entering the museum complex.

Pinecone Courtyard (Cortile del Belvedere)

Begin your tour in the spacious Pinecone Courtyard (Cortile della Pigna), named after the colossal Roman bronze pinecone dating back to the 1st century BC. Your guide will introduce the history of the Vatican Palaces and point out Arnaldo Pomodoro’s modern sculpture, Sphere Within Sphere.

Pio-Clementino Museum

Enter the core of the classical sculpture collection. Marvel at famous ancient Greek and Roman works, including the Laocoön and His Sons and the Apollo Belvedere. Walk through the Octagonal Courtyard, the Hall of the Muses, and the impressive Rotunda Room featuring Emperor Nero’s massive porphyry bathtub.

The Upper Galleries (Candelabra, Tapestries & Maps)

Stroll through three famous interconnecting galleries: Gallery of the Candelabra: Admire magnificent marble pillars, ancient Roman candelabra, and intricate floor mosaics.

Gallery of the Tapestries: Walk beneath stunning 16th-century Flemish tapestries woven in Brussels from drawings by Raphael’s students.

Gallery of Maps: Experience one of the highlight corridors of the Vatican, featuring 40 topographical wall frescoes depicting the regions of Italy, painted between 1580 and 1585 under Pope Gregory XIII.

Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina)

Enter Michelangelo’s world-renowned masterpiece. Take time to quietly absorb the breathtaking ceiling frescoes, featuring The Creation of Adam, and the dramatic wall fresco of The Last Judgment behind the altar.

Please note: The Sistine Chapel is a sacred place of worship. Absolute silence is required, and photography or video recording is strictly prohibited.

Tour Conclusion & St. Peter's Square Access

Your guided tour officially concludes at the Sistine Chapel exit. From here, your guide will direct you toward the exit or back to St. Peter's Square, where you can continue exploring the Vatican area on your own or visit St. Peter's Basilica.
