Maya Chocolate-Making Experience
1. Pickup
Start your journey with convenient pickup from your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.
2. Welcome and Cultural Introduction
Arrive at the cacao farm and meet your hosts. Learn about the importance of cacao in ancient Maya civilization — from spiritual rituals to its role as currency.
3. Guided Farm Tour
Walk through the cacao orchard to see how cacao trees grow. Discover how the beans are harvested, fermented, and dried using traditional methods.
4. Hands-On Chocolate Making
Get your hands dirty! Roast and grind your own cacao beans using traditional Maya tools. Shape and mold your own chocolate creation to take home.
5. Maya Chocolate Tasting
Sip rich, traditional Maya chocolate drink and sample a variety of handmade chocolate products made from Belizean cacao.
6. Optional Shopping
Browse locally made cacao products and crafts available for purchase.
7. Drop-Off
Relax on the ride back to your hotel, chocolate in hand and culture in heart.

- Placencia village is very small, we are often able to meet you at a hotel or municipal dock. If staying at properties on the Placencia sidewalk, we'll meet at the nearest sidewalk exit on the main road. Please let us know what your needs are and we will do our best to accommodate.
