Next, we will walk by the elegant 19th-century Versailles City Hall, adorned with stunning sculptural details, and learn about its different aristocratic owners, including a natural daughter of King Louis XIV, who commissioned the Palace of Versailles.

Stop 3

Continue to the Courtyard of Honor, where the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles unfolds before you. The majestic Equestrian Statue of Louis XIV, the “Sun King,” greets you at the square’s entrance and welcomes you to admire his lifetime masterpiece.

Stop 4

Marvel at the magnificent Honor Gate, with its intricate gilded ironwork, representing the opulence of the Louis XIV style. Don’t forget to take iconic photos with the Palace of Versailles as the stunning backdrop.

Through the gate, you can enjoy the best vistas of the whole palace complex and imagine the excessively extravagant lifestyle of the “Kings of European Kings” and his aristocracy in the 17th century.
