Itinerary

Step 1

You will start your sightseeing at the city’s most iconic landmark—the White Tower. As you admire its imposing structure by the waterfront, your guide will share stories about its role during the Ottoman era and how it came to symbolize Thessaloniki today. You’ll also get a great introduction to the city’s fascinating, multi-layered history.

Step 2

You will take a pleasant walk along the seaside promenade to reach the impressive statue of Alexander the Great on horseback. Here, you’ll learn about his roots in the region of Macedonia, his epic conquests, and his lasting influence across the world—all while enjoying a scenic view of the Thermaic Gulf.

Step 3

You will stand beneath the ancient Arch of Galerius, one of the city’s most important Roman monuments. Your guide will explain the detailed carvings that celebrate Emperor Galerius’ victories and describe the once-grand imperial complex that surrounded this part of the city.

Step 4
