Vergina (or Aige in ancient Greek) is located only 82 km away from Thessaloniki, in central Macedonia. Vergina is Unesco World Heritage Site, where among the other antiquites you will have the chance to see the nicely preserved tomb of King Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) and the tomb of Alexander IV (son of Alexander the Great).

The new museum

at Vergina showcases remarkable discoveries, including the golden larnax and other royal treasures. Exhibits focus on the era of Philip II and Alexander the Great, offering a deep dive into Macedonian history.
