Ready to explore the native culture of Zanzibar? This full-day tour begins with hotel pickup and a trip to Jozani. Instead of the forest, we’ll explore the surrounding area, starting at the Pangoni Caves to uncover legends of Zanzibar’s past. Next, we’ll visit a traditional village, welcomed by the mganga (healer), who’ll share ancestral wisdom and healing practices. We’ll stroll through the village, observe daily life, and join a handicraft workshop with locals. Then, we’ll head to nearby fields to learn about tropical crops before enjoying a Swahili lunch of pilau, fish, aubergines, and fresh fruit juice. Afterward, we’ll canoe through mangroves for 30 minutes, followed by a short ox-cart ride in the countryside. The tour ends with a return to your hotel, about 8 hours after departure.
