I booked this spice tour mainly for the food, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of my Zanzibar trip! Our guide was super knowledgeable and funny, sharing stories about how each spice has been part of Swahili cooking for generations.
The highlight, though, was lunch. Sitting down to eat with local hosts, enjoying rice, coconut curries, and fresh fruits picked just minutes before. Definitely worth every minute (and every dollar)!

As a solo traveler, I found this tour incredibly welcoming. From the moment I was picked up in Stone Town, I felt part of something local and special. The guide made sure everyone had a chance to ask questions and try things — I even tasted raw turmeric (hot but amazing!).

This tour was perfect for our family! We have two kids (ages 9 and 12), and they were fascinated from start to finish. The guides kept things fun and interactive — letting the kids crush spices, smell leaves, and even join in a small dance session at the farm.
It was educational without ever feeling like a lecture. Lunch was a real treat too, we all loved the coconut bread and fresh pineapple. The whole experience gave our kids a glimpse into local life and traditions in such a friendly, engaging way.
