Day 1 Pachacamac

The Pachacamac Site Museum was founded in 1965.

It serves as an anteroom for the visit to the Sanctuary, which shows the main archaeological finds from the site. The idol of Pachacamac stands out, as well as the cloth door decorated with Spondylus shells both coming from the excavations carried out in the Temple Pintado by Alberto Giesecke.

Other outstanding elements of the museum are the series of sculptural ceramic offerings dating from the Wari period (700-1100 BC) where representations of fish, characters and plants stand out. Also the series of Inca quipus coming from an enclosure near the Palace of Taurichumpi.

The museum is organized thematically showing the entire cultural sequence of the Pachacamac Sanctuary, from the 2nd century BC. until the establishment of the Incas in 1470.

Same Day Barranco

The district of Barranco is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of the Peruvian capital, in its streets filled with big houses, bars, restaurants and its bohemian atmosphere, they are a connection between the past and the present of Lima.

Among the attractions that stand out of this picturesque neighborhood, stand out the municipal square and its church, as well as different museums and the Temple of the Hermitage

Same Day Centro Historico de Lima

It is located in the district of Lima Metropolitan. It was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro and known as the "City of Kings" due to its important status as capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru from the mid-sixteenth century to 1821. The Historic Center of Lima retains until the today the most illustrious examples of Spanish monumental architecture. The most important historical monuments of public character are represented by numerous churches and convents, as well as mansions that preserve the tradition of the Hispano-American Baroque.

Same Day Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas, Plaza San Francisco Jirón Lampa y Ancash

This set of religious precincts, of neoclassical and baroque style, was erected in 1546. During the 17th century, the temple was the object of a series of arrangements and decorations that ended up turning it into a marvel of art in the viceregal era.

In 1655 an earthquake occurred in Lima that brought down the Franciscan temple, destroying its artistic riches, collapsing all the effort of a century.

The new temple was inaugurated in 1672, and repairs continued inside the convent until 1729.

Nowadays, the convent presents attractions, together with its remarkable courtyards and gardens, which are surrounded by arches with baseboards of Seville tiles.

Same Day Magic Water Circuit of the Reserve Park

The Parque de la Reserva was originally opened in 1929 to commemorate all the civilian reservists who fought in the defence of Lima during the War of the Pacific. But more than 65 years later, it became one of Lima's most visited tourist attractions.  In 2007 a water and light show called the Circuito Magico del Agua, The Magic Water Circuit, was inaugurated. It has the Guinness Book record for the largest fountain complex in the world, displaying 13 distinct fountains and many are interactive. All of the fountains are illuminated at night, many with continuously changing color schemes. A colorful laser light program synchronized with classical and Peruvian music makes the fountains sparkle and shine as the water flows in unique patterns and shapes.

Important Information to Consider Before Booking Your Experience

This is an authentic backcountry adventure in a remote and wild mountain environment. To ensure your safety and enjoyment, as well as that of the group, please carefully review the following requirements before booking.

1. Skier/Snowboarder Ability & Physical Fitness

  • Skill Level: This tour is designed for strong intermediate to advanced/expert off-piste skiers and snowboarders. You must be confident riding in a variety of snow conditions, including deep powder, wind-affected snow, and variable crud. Experience in tree skiing and navigating uncontrolled terrain is essential. This tour is not suitable for beginners or those new to off-piste riding.
  • Physical Condition: A high level of physical fitness is required. Days can be long and physically demanding, involving multiple runs at altitudes between 1900 m and 3100 m. You should be capable of sustained physical activity for several days in a row.

2. Mandatory Safety & Personal Equipment

  • Avalanche Safety Gear: It is mandatory for every participant to wear and know how to use an avalanche transceiver, and to carry a shovel and probe in a backpack on all ski days. While this equipment can often be rented, please inquire about availability and cost at the time of booking.
  • Helmet: Helmets are mandatory for all skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling activities.
  • Ski/Snowboard Equipment: We strongly recommend a dedicated powder/freeride setup (skis with a waist width of 100 mm or more are ideal) to make the most of the conditions. Ensure your equipment is in excellent working condition before you arrive.
  • Backpack: A well-fitting backpack (25-35 liters) with straps for carrying skis or a snowboard is essential for carrying your safety gear, water, lunch, and extra layers. Airbag packs are highly recommended.

3. Snowmobile Operation

  • While prior snowmobiling experience is beneficial, it is not required. Our expert guides will provide thorough instruction on how to safely operate the machines. However, you should be a confident and licensed driver with a willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.

4. Comprehensive Travel Insurance

  • It is a condition of booking that you have comprehensive travel insurance. Your policy must explicitly cover off-piste skiing, catskiing, snowmobiling, and emergency medical evacuation from a remote mountain environment. Please verify the details of your policy before your trip.

5. Flights & Logistics

  • Please note that this tour starts and ends in different cities. You must book your inbound flight to Trabzon Airport (TZX) and your outbound flight from Erzurum Airport (ERZ).
  • Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from Turkey and check any visa requirements for your nationality.

6. The Nature of Backcountry Travel

  • Flexibility is Key: The itinerary is a guide. The daily plan is dictated by weather, snow stability, and group dynamics. Our guides will make decisions with your safety as the absolute priority. A flexible and positive attitude is essential.
  • Remote Location: The Handüzü Plateau is a remote, high-altitude location. This means you are truly away from it all, with limited access to facilities like pharmacies or large stores. Please bring any personal necessities and medications with you.
