About This Tour

The best time to see the crossing is between July to Mid October. The Mara River crossings are not a single event, rather crossings occur throughout the dry season (July to October). Groups varying in size from a few hundreds to tens of thousands cross the river in both directions.

Experiencing the breathtaking migration in the Serengeti was a highlight of my journey, as I watched thousands of wildebeest thunder across the plains. My stay at a cozy lodge near Ngorongoro offered an intimate touch, though I wished for a bit more variety in the dining options.

Our time in Arusha in Tanzania was incredibly rewarding, as we delved into the heart of the great migration. The accommodations were comfortable, with a perfect mix of modern amenities and local charm, making our downtime relaxing after day-long adventures in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Each day brought new sights and experiences, from witnessing herds of wildebeest to exploring stunning landscapes. One suggestion would be to enhance the itinerary with a bit more time for leisurely exploration at certain stops, allowing us to soak in the beauty of our surroundings even further. Overall, this journey was a memorable escape that blended convenience and adventure seamlessly.

From the moment I landed in Arusha, the vibrant culture and warm smiles set the tone for my journey through Tanzania. Exploring the Serengeti and Ngorongoro was nothing short of magical, especially when I woke up in my cozy lodge, nestled perfectly in nature. The only thing I would suggest is a bit more time at the cultural stops; I would have loved to delve deeper into the Maasai traditions and stories.
