Angra Dos Reis

We will meet at the Santa Luzia Pier where we will board a boat to go to Abraão Village, Ilha Grande. There, our guide will tell you a bit about the history of the island.

Ruinas do Lazareto

Our first stop when we arrive at the island is to visit the Ruinas do Lazareto, an old prison where they kept the sick immigrants who came to Brazil at the time of colonization. This tour will give us an approach to the historical part of the colonization and slavery that took place in Brazil.

Aqueduto da Ilha Grande

We will pass by the aqueduct built-in 1893 to supply water to the community and the ruins before water pipes and pumps were created. It was built with whale oil and stones molded by the slaves of the time. The construction is 125 meters long and 30 meters high and can be seen from the forest road.

Pocao do Abraao Waterfall

The tour continues on a low-intensity trail. We will arrive at Pocao that even though its waterfall is absent, the well is formed in the middle of the forest. Besides being a beautiful walk, visitors use to dive in its waters.

Preta Beach

We arrived at the beach! Leaving a little of the air of the forest, and we enter a beach landscape. We will face the Preta beach, a continuous beach to the forest that we visited a few hours ago.

Vila do Abraao

Vila do Abraao, an interesting town from its name to all the history that it holds. This village had a very important role at the time of colonization, the first place where a hospital was built for Leprosy, a sickness that shook the country in that century. Later with the construction of the prison, this town increased its importance for the time. Visiting it and learning more about its history will be the final end of our tour.
