After landing at Colombo airport, we were relieved to find our private taxi waiting promptly, ready for the four-hour journey to our hotel in Polonnaruwa. The driver was friendly and made sure we were comfortable, sharing interesting tidbits about the local culture during the ride. However, we did encounter some heavy traffic along the way, which extended our travel time a bit longer than expected. Despite that, the smooth ride and air conditioning kept us relaxed as we took in the beautiful scenery outside. Overall, it was a seamless transfer, setting a nice tone for the start of our trip.
