Itinerary

The Dom Luís bridge

If we had to make a Porto skyline, there is no doubt that this must-see site would be one of them. Implanted in the landscape, the Dom Luís Bridge is the metallic structure that connects the treasures of Porto to the famous wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia.

The cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia

Let those who have never succumbed to a small glass of Port, raise their hands. Oh yes, don't move, we can see you! Of course not, we are joking!

Viewpoint over the Ribeira neighborhood

Who says a bit of climbing often means an unobstructed view. And yes, we didn't ask you to come up for an exercise story. Instead, take a look at the photo spot that we found for you.

Fernandina Wall

All in length should normally stand in front of you, the one called the Fernandina Wall. Although we are far from the endless measures of that of China, this portion of Gothic fortification is a beautiful trace of Porto's past.

Santa Clara Church

It is in this discreet alley that one of Porto's most precious treasures is hidden. Unlike many of its “peers”, Santa Clara Church reveals its potential much more through what it contains than through its external aesthetics.

São João National Theater

Inaugurated in 1798, the São João National Theater mainly aimed to provide the country's 2nd largest city with an opera house.

The church of Saint Ildefonso

Perhaps not the most famous attraction in Porto, the Church of Saint Ildefonso is definitely a pleasant piece of scenery along the way. Built between 1709 and 1739, this religious building honors the art of azulejo.

Le Café Majestic

By taking you to the outskirts of this great address in Porto, we invite you to experience a journey through time, so hang in there!

Rua Santa Catarina

Well known to shopaholics, Sainte-Catherine Street is the most commercial artery in central Porto. Its first origins date back to 1662, and its length of 1500 meters was only reached in 1784, after a final extension in the direction of Marquês de Pombal Square.

The Chapel of Souls

Lost in the middle of the hustle and bustle and signs of all kinds, it is one of the most enchanting churches in Porto that strikes our eyes. Located on this site since the beginning of the 18th century, the Chapel of Souls leaves us amazed by its artistic facades.

The Bolhão Market

Here you are on the edge of the Bolhão Market, one of the must-see addresses in Porto, classified as a historic monument in 2006.

Porto City Hall

In your opinion, what iconic building in any city do we have to deal with? To help you, this is not a courthouse, theater, or museum. So, a small idea?

São Bento train station

Just because we're taking you to a station doesn't mean we want to send you to another destination. On the contrary, we are keeping you with us! Any visit to Porto cannot be done without a stop at São Bento station, which already makes use of its charm through its external appearance.

La Praça da Liberdade

Every city has its place and Porto is no exception. Connecting ancient Porto to its most recent part, Freedom Square is an essential crossing point in discovering the place.

La Librairie Lello & Brother

Squeezed between two buildings, this small piece of white neo-Gothic facade is not a church, but a bookstore, or rather THE Lello & Irmão bookstore.

The Carmelite Church and the Carmelite Church

To avoid any confusion, the church we are trying to let you know is the one on the right, and not the one on the left stuck to the bell tower.

The Portuguese Center of Photography

It is at the bend of this square, and these peaceful gardens, that this intimidating building appears, whose sunny yellow color deceives appearances.

The Clérigos Tower

Located in the Porto landscape, this 76-meter tower, the tallest in the country, is a must in our visit.

The Miradouro da Vitória Act

It is in this type of hidden places that Porto takes on postcard areas. From this viewpoint, the whole of the old town, and more, is under your feet.

The Ferreira Borges Market

What a beautiful red iron structure do we have there. Built in 1885, at the request of the City Council, the Ferreira Borges Market was designed to replace the old Ribeira Market.

Saint-François Church

Here you are at the doors of another famous religious building in Porto. Built during the 14th century, under the religious order of the Franciscans, the Saint-François Church is a combination of 3 architectural styles: Romanesque and Gothic, in what is similar to its structure and Baroque for its interior decoration.

Viewpoint over the Gaia cellars and the Dom Luis bridge

It is like posing on the waters of the Douro that this breathtaking view receives you. Here, everything is played out in two stages. At first, you can calmly immerse yourself in the place.

The Ribeira neighborhood

You can feel these vibrations that come to you, they are those of the Ribeira district, the historic heart of Porto. Whether locals or visitors for a day, everyone loves this neighborhood for its authentic side.

The pillory of the Sé Cathedral in Porto

Face-to-face with the Sé de Porto, in other words the city's cathedral, you normally have to cross a twisted stone column, called “pelourinho” in Portuguese.

Sé Cathedral in Porto

Located on the heights of the city, the Sé, or Porto Cathedral, is desired. Built in the 12th century, and rebuilt several times during its history, it presents a harmonious architectural ensemble, and yet very heterogeneous.

Saint-Laurent church and viewpoint

The small square you arrive in brings you face to face with a new church, more sober than the ones you have seen so far. This is the church of Saint-Laurent, also known as the Church of the Crickets.

The Porto Stock Exchange Palace

You pass the Porto Stock Exchange Palace on your right. This large neoclassical building was built in the 19th century on the site of the former Franciscan convent, destroyed by a fire. The new building is as huge as it is impressive.
