Tour Plan
At the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, learn about one of the most pivotal moments in US history: the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the subsequent entry of the United States into World War II
Weighing over 58,000 tons and measuring just under 900 feet from bow to stern, the USS Missouri is a hulking, awe-inspiring behemoth of a ship. A true force to be reckoned with in her prime, today, the now peaceful giant stands silent guard over Pearl Harbor.
The "Mighty Mo" was the last American battleship ever built and the last to be decommissioned. The surrender of the Japanese on the deck of the Missouri brought the Second World War to an end and remains one of the most impressive highlights in her illustrious 50-year career. A career spanning five decades and three wars .
Explore over 70 years of history on the Battleship Missouri with engaging educational program and experiences. We offer a number of programs for teachers, students and parents to learn more about the Mighty Mo's role in World War II, the Korean War and Operation Desert Storm. So come aboard the biggest classroom you'll ever encounter and learn about our nation's legacy.
The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is in an extinct volcano near the center of Honolulu, Hawaii.
On either side of the grand stairs leading to the memorial are eight courts of the missing on which are inscribed the names of the 18,095 American World War II missing from the Pacific, excluding those from the southwest Pacific, and 8,210 American missing from the Korean War. These names were listed on the Korean War Courts of the Missing at the time of the dedication in 1966. Two half courts have been added at the foot of the staircase that contain the names of 2,504 Americans missing from the Vietnam War. At the top of the stairs is a chapel flanked by galleries containing mosaic maps and descriptions of the achievements of the American armed forces in the central and south Pacific regions and in Korea.

Our family had an unforgettable time exploring the historic site, especially when we stepped aboard the USS Missouri and felt the weight of its past. The transportation was comfortable, but we wished for a bit more time at the harbor to soak in the stunning views before moving on.

We had a fascinating journey through history that left us with lasting memories, especially while exploring the battleship that has countless stories etched into its decks. While the guide offered great insights, we felt that more time could have been spent at the memorial to truly soak in the experience.
