Hoa Lu was the capital of an independent empire among the rulers of the Dinh Dynasty (968–980) and early Le Dynasty (980–1009), before Emperor Ly Thai moved the capital to Thang Long, present-day Hanoi in 1010. The city was strategically located: surrounded by water and the erratic limestone rocks that gave the area the nickname “Halong Bay on land”.

We had a wonderful time on our cruise, especially during the dinner when the chef surprised us with a beautifully presented seafood feast that was both fresh and delicious. One memorable moment was watching the sunset over the bay, painting the sky in rosy hues, while we enjoyed our drinks on the deck. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home amidst the luxury surroundings. If there’s one suggestion we have, it would be to offer more local dishes in the menu; we’d love to savor even more of the region’s flavors. Overall, it was a fantastic getaway that our family will cherish forever.

Exploring the stunning waters on a luxurious cruise was a highlight for our family, with each meal showcasing delightful flavors that left us savoring every bite. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the variety of activities offered during the day, as we found ourselves wishing for a bit more adventure amidst the serene scenery.

We had an unforgettable time exploring the serene waters and stunning scenery during our cruise, especially while enjoying dinner on the deck under a sky full of stars. The accommodations were impressive, though we felt the breakfast options could use a bit more variety to match the overall luxury experience.

Sailing through the enchanting waters of Hạ Long in Vietnam, we were mesmerized by the stunning limestone cliffs and vibrant sunsets that painted the sky rosy hues each evening. Our accommodations aboard the cruise exceeded expectations, with spacious suites that brought a touch of luxury to our getaway, making it hard to leave the deck. One evening, we shared laughter over an exquisite seafood dinner, creating memories we’ll cherish, though the dining experience could benefit from a few more vegetarian options to cater to diverse tastes.
