Ao Talen is a small fishing village, located in the heart of Krabi's local mangrove ecosystem. And exploring the hidden beauty spots of this remarkable area is best done on a kayak. Paddle your way through bays and canyons, past caves and cliffs.
You'll begin by being picked up at your hotel and transferred to Ao Talen Pier by 9.00am. Here you'll be given a Briefing by your kayaking guide about the morning ahead.
And it won't be long before you're exploring the amazing mangrove forest of Ao Talen by kayak, complete with stunning overhanging limestone cliffs, lagoons, mangrove swamps and canyon.
There is so much amazing wildlife here, including birds, reptiles and mammals. Frequently sighted birds in the mangroves are Brown-Winged Kingfishers, Pacific Reef Egrets, Asian Dowitchers and White-Bellied Sea Eagles. It is not uncommon to see Otters, Macaques, Gibbons and Two-Banded Monitor Lizards too. And in the muddy, shallow waters, Fiddler Crabs and Mud Skippers are also quite prevalent.
Just after midday you will be back at the Pier where your minivan awaits to take you back to the hotel.
We think you’ll agree that there is no better way to appreciate nature around Krabi undisturbed than by kayaking.
