Tour Plan
City tour: Christ of the Brotherhood
We will drive to the outskirts of the city where you'll take a short walk to Christ of the Brotherhood. There, you will learn about the Jujuy landscape as you take in the panoramic views from the base of the statue.
City tour: The statue of Lola Mora
We will head back into town to visit the statue of Lola Mora, an argentinian woman known as a pioneer in the art world.
City Tour: Plaza Belgrano
Then, we will go to one of the main parks in Jujuy: Plaza Belgrano, a green place with trees and gardens that provides a pleasant environment for relaxation and recreation.
City tour: Cabildo
Then, we will visit the Cabildo of Jujuy, a historical site with cultural significance that you can learn many things about the city.
City tour: Police History Museum
Then, we will visit the Police History Museum.
City tour: Cathedral of San Salvador de Jujuy
Then, we will visit the Catedral, located in the capital of the Jujuy Province in northwest Argentina, which exhibits a colonial architectural style, reflecting its historical significance.
City tour: San Francisco Church
We will continue along Belgrano toward the San Francisco Church, known for its stunning architecture.
City tour: Lavalle Museum
Next, we will head to the Lavalle Museum, dedicated to the memory of military leader Juan Gallo Lavalle.
City tour: Archeological Museum (optional)
For an even deeper understanding of Jujuy, we will upgrade your experience with an optional tour of the Archeological Museum, where you can see the mummy of Juanita La Doncella.
City tour: Mitre Theatre
We will finish the tour with a visit to the Mitre Theatre and a walk along the Promenade des Artisans. You will get dropped at your Jujuy hotel at around noon. Entrance fees, food, drinks, and optional gratuities are at your expense.
Itinerary
You will travel through the foothills of the Andes and spend some time at the Monument of Canota, erected in 1935 in honor of General José de San Martín. This area was instrumental in San Martín’s fight for independence for Chile and Peru.
Once in the old Villavicencio Thermal Hotel Complex, enjoy the lavish, verdant gardens, visiting the charming chapel on the grounds. The resort, once the stomping grounds for the powerful and wealthy, hasn’t been used in decades, but there’s still plenty of interest here, including natural springs. Here we will take a walking tour of its gardens and visit the interpretation center.
Then, you will spend some time at the Caracoles viewpoint with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the natural reserve.
After enjoying this morning we will be returning to our hotels in the city.
