Itinerary
Explorations half day temples begin at the Temple of Angkor. Built by the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation – first Hindu, dedicated to the god Vishnu, then Buddhist.
Take continues to visit the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom City, the Bayon, centerpiece of the ancient city. Marvel at the Bayon's spectacular 54 towers decorated with over 200 enigmatic stone faces
Next we visit Baphuon temple and the 350 metre long 'Terrace of the Elephants'.
The terrace was used as a giant viewing platform for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king's grand audience hall.
From here we move onto the mysterious 'Terrace of the Leper King'. Standing atop of the 7 metre platform is a nude sexless statue. You will be finished your touring and return to your hotel at approximately 12 pm.
The Tonle Sap Lake is situated in the center of Cambodia. The nation's great lake is one of the geographical wonders of the world and its extraordinary boi-diversity and hydrology make it an ecological marvel. Tonle Sap is 160km long and 36km wide.
After lunch, we drive 30 minutes to the departure point at Chung Khneas village and cruise along a canal, past floating villages complete with schools, restaurants and even a hospital. See fishing nets being mended, children swimming and playing, floating pigpens and even crocodile enclosures. This journey provides a truly amazing look into a remarkable way of life
