About This Tour

Overview

Step into the forge of a master swordsmith whose lineage spans over 200 years, and immerse yourself in the heart of Japan’s legendary craftsmanship. This exclusive program invites you to witness the soul of Yamato-damashii—the Japanese traditional spirit—expressed through fire, steel, and human hands.

Feel the heat of the furnace and the rhythm of hammer strikes as the blacksmith demonstrates centuries-old forging techniques used in both swords and fine kitchen blades. Under the artisan’s close guidance, you’ll craft your own uniquely shaped and textured knife—available only through this program—and can personalize it with an engraving of your name.

Throughout your visit, you’ll explore the sacred traditions and philosophies behind Japanese carftmanship, while enjoying the quiet intensity and meditative rhythm of working with elemental materials. A professional photographer (optional) can document your forging moments. After final finishing by the master, your knife will be shipped to your home—a one-of-a-kind tool, and a lifelong symbol of your journey into Japanese tradition.
