We will pick you up at your arrival at the Iquitos airport, and we will transfer by road until you reach the port of Nauta, located at 1:30 hours away from the city. We will get on the boats, and if it is rainy season, we can visit the Casual Fundo on our way down the river.
Arriving at the Pacaya Samiria lodge, you will be received by a descendant of the Kukama Kukamiria culture, and enjoy a delicious natural fruit juice. The Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is located in the heart of the Peruvian jungle, on the left bank of River Marañon, southwest of the city of Iquitos. The largest floodplain forest in the Amazon is located in the Pacaya Samiria reserve, hosting important species of wildlife such as the pink dolphin, cougars, monkeys, birds, a big diversity of reptiles such as alligators and turtles. Also, the rivers offer a lot of species of fishes. After lunch, we will have a fun afternoon listening the legends and stories about the mysterious Amazon rainforest. Then, we will go on a night tour around the lodge, looking for spiders, snakes, frogs and a variety of nocturnal insects. Dinner at the lodge and overnight.
